What to pitch

We consider pitches on layout, furniture, planting, materials and the ways people use outdoor spaces. A useful proposal has one central question, a defined reader and a distinct point of view. It might explain why a design choice works, compare two options, clarify a common misconception or plan for a particular season or occasion.

Make the idea specific

Send a working title, a short summary of the main argument, the category it fits and a brief note about your relevant perspective. Tell us what the reader will be able to understand or decide after reading. We prefer original ideas with a clear scope over broad lists of tips or lightly altered versions of familiar advice.
